• Prof. Anton Post (In Memoriam)

    Executive Director
    Biography

    Prof. Anton Post was appointed executive director of the BSF in 2020 after serving as Associate Vice President for Global Partnerships and Executive Director of Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute from 2017-2020. Before that he was the Director of the Coastal Resources Center at the University of Rhode Island. He served as program director in the Division of Ocean Science at the National Science Foundation from 2012-2015.

    Prof. Post received his formal education at the University of Amsterdam with a PhD in Microbial Ecology. In 1987 he immigrated to Israel where he started his 20 year academic career at the Hebrew University specializing in the molecular ecology of marine phytoplankton. He was a visiting scientist at MIT from 1994-2004 before accepting a position as senior scientist at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Mass. in 2007. He has (co)authored more than 120 peer reviewed articles and book chapters.

  • Dr. Rachel (Heni) Haring

    Acting Executive Director
    Biography

    Dr. Rachel Haring has served as assistant executive director of the BSF since 2005. In this capacity, she coordinates all aspects of the granting process. She holds a B.Sc. in Life Sciences, and M.Sc. (cum laude) and Ph.D degrees in biochemistry, all from Tel Aviv University. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Camp David Institute for International Health in the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. She has served as senior biochemist at the Israel Institute for Biological Research, Ness Ziona; and as senior scientist in several biotechnology companies. Dr. Haring has authored 32 peer-reviewed articles and 15 book chapters.

  • Mr. Moti Levin

    Controller
    Biography

    Mr. Moti Levin joined the BSF in 2012 and is responsible for all financial and accounting functions.  Mr. Levin, a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), brings with him over 25 years of diversified financial management experience.  Mr. Levin earned his BA in Judaic Studies at the Spertus College in Chicago and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago.

  • Ms. Orli Rozencwajg

    Senior Computer and I.T. Administrator
    Biography

    Ms. Orli Rozencwajg joined the BSF in 2004. She oversees all aspects of the foundation’s information systems, database and website, and provides support services to BSF clients. Ms. Rozencwajg earned her BA in computer science from Hadassah Academic College in Jerusalem, and her MBA (summa cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

    Biography

    Ms. Ester (Eti) Alfandari is a Senior Administrative Assistant. She joined the BSF at a young age in 1985 and has been working in the BSF continuously since then.

  • Ms. Miri Yelagin

    Information Specialist
    Biography

    Ms. Miri Yelagin joined the BSF in 2006 as an Information Specialist, after serving in the same capacity at the Israel Science Foundation (ISF). She earned a BA in Humanities & Social Sciences, and a Master in Library Science (magna cum laude), both from the Hebrew University.

    Biography

    Ms. Marjorie Curiel joined the BSF in 2023 as an Administrative Assistant. Marjorie earned her BA from the University of Pennsylvania, and her MA from Teacher’s College, Columbia University.

  • Ms. Yael Dressler

    Information Specialist
    Biography

    Ms. Yael Dressler joined the BSF in 2013 as an Information Specialist. Her responsibilities include the joint program with the NSF. Yael earned a BA in English Literature and MA in History, both from Bar-Ilan University. She also holds a diploma in Information Studies from the Technion.
